SHADES OF GRAY

James Fox

"Black ink. White paper. The contrast is necessary to separate the message from the background. The stark difference reveals meaning."

"But is it truth? Probably not, at least not complete truth."

"Life is rarely black and white. The contrast between good and evil, right and wrong, yes and no is not so sharp as people would like."

The above quotation clearly illustrating the basis for the subjective thinking of touchy, feely Liberal, prompted me to try to illustrate the inaccuracy of this approach to defining truth. I say that by its very nature life is black and white, by its very nature life is in natural balance and by its very nature all species live in symbiotic balance; the only exception to all of the above is man...homo-sapien. He distorts truth, he creates gray, he destroys and mutates all other life forms and in general is a cancer slowly destroying mother earth.

So far, the Left hasn't been very exemplary regarding the difference in viewpoint relative to black and white v/s shades of gray. I don't know why, but I'll try to put it in proper perspective:

PROP. 209 survives Supreme Court challenge. The California measure banning race and gender preference in government, hiring- contracts and college admissions (otherwise known as affirmative action), passed by overwhelming majority by California voters has and continues to be challenged by left wing radicals as to it's constitutionality. However, for once, the Supreme Court saw the light of reason and upheld the decision of the voters.

Hooray!! Black and White celebrates -- Finally, someone had sense enough to use words that even Willy Brown couldn't twist around and give new meaning. Prop 209 is a "Black and White" document if ever one has been written. It states in clear, concise terms that state and local governments cannot "discriminate against or grant preferential treatment to any individual or group on the basis of sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin."

The "GRAY" addicts are in shock. Their latest attempt at coloration and distortion is to say that if the state or local government doesn't discriminate in favor of sex or minority status, the state is discriminating against that sex or minority. Isn't that really grasping at straws? Sounds more like gibberish than logic, but that's what gray is all about, isn't it?

Okay, this example is about as definitive as I can be . . . If black is the message and white is the background; then gray must be a distortion of the message. The sooner the liberal left gets this message, the sooner society can regain the benefits of law and order, equality of opportunity and equal treatment in all aspects of our lives.

If we pass single-issue legislation written in simple black and white language, we will soon be able to make simple black and white decisions about what and how our elected representatives are performing their service to their constituents.
