Election Results
Californians Weren't Thinking About

I do believe that because of the pre-election shenanigans that went on in California leading up to the 2000 Presidential Election and California's 2002 election -- shenanigans including vicious character assassination, misleading propaganda by both the liberal media and powerful union interests, the obscene amount of money raised and used by Gray Davis, and the after election redistricting that resulted in even more liberal congressional districts being created; California fell dangerously out of favor with the Federal Government.

During our energy crisis, Gray Davis' efforts to get help from Washington failed miserably. During the crippling Dock strikes that paralyzed the west coast, the Federal government only intervened after they had no other choice.

Now, in spite of the Presidents popularity rating being higher than any other president in history and the polls indicating the public's majority approval of our war against terrorism, the liberal left in California are doing everything possible to undermine that confidence.

So as a result, we in California have no protection from annihilation, should we become involved in a war with North Korea. North Korea is only 5,070 miles from San Francisco. Inter-continental ballistic missiles have a range of 6,000 miles and a speed of 15,000 mph. This means San Francisco is only 18 minutes from being a hole in the ground. Unfortunately our Minuteman-missiles are at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., Malmstrom AFB, Mont., and Minot AFB, N.D. -- well out of range of Korea. I'm aware we have the Patriot missile, and strike capabilities from strategically located atomic powered subs, but will they protect our West Coast? I think not.

Now this is an election result I'm certainly not happy or satisfied with. How about you? Now I don't blame the Government for abandoning California. However, I like the geography and most of the people, so I think we should try to come up with some sort of plan to protect ourselves.

I believe we should encourage the development of the missile defense system. California has missile silos throughout the state. They were created during other emergencies. They could be modified to the latest technology cheaper than starting from scratch.

Back to the message: When voting, it might be a good idea to analyze the probable results of Presidential or Congressional elections and get on board with the winning team. We send our elected representatives to Washington to get results favorable to our state's best interests, but we make their jobs impossible if our voting and campaign practices make us the enemy.
