WHAT THE MEDIA AND EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS RISK
April 4, 2003

The news media should stop obsessing on the war in Iraq, particularly when it comes to slanting the news toward anti-war, anti-American demonstrations here and around the world. The media should not frustrate Operation Iraqi Freedom with a feeding frenzy on negative news that demoralizes our military and their families. And the media should not seek out ghoulish war news, needlessly depicting death and destruction. This is not the 60's. This is not Viet Nam. And this is not cheap reality television. The sooner the media and education establishment realize it, the better.

Most of the viewing and reading public wants to know what is going on without over-analysis, over-speculation and reckless commentary. And please spare us the arrogant journalism and anti-American zealotry. Major television networks, newspapers and newsmagazines should know that we can easily turn you off, stop reading the bias, and seek the truth elsewhere. The media should be reasonable and balanced, or risk being out of business. Indeed, the same goes for the anti-American education establishment that continues to poison the minds of our children. That's the way real democracy works.
